WHAM is one of only four EBR schools selected to implement First Tee. Mrs. Revel and Dr. Legoria taught the curriculum this spring to all WHAM students. They made connections between the sport of golf and the science of force and motion. Later this week a group of fourth grade students will have the opportunity to visit Web Park and play a few holes of golf. The funding for this grant was provided through Capitol City Golf Association. We would like to thank Lynn Williamson for her support of the PE program at WHAM!
Volunteers from Bethany Church recently worked alongside our WHAM students and did an INCREDIBLE job. The main focus of their day included working in the pond and sprucing up the Kindergarten beds. We are extremely grateful for their partnership! As a result of their help we are officially ready to transition the gardens from spring to summer!
Due to the threat of severe weather during peak transportation times and the current road closures across the city, the East Baton Rouge Parish School System will be closing all schools and offices Friday, May 10, 2019.
Every year the students at WHAM put on a phenomenal talent show! This year the talent was nothing short of EXTRAORDINARY. We are fortunate to have such a diverse school community where the students are excited about celebrating their peers. Congratulations to all the performers! It’s time for Mid City Merchants - Hot Art, Cool Nights!
WHAM students will be exhibiting their favorite artwork from this year at this event. Calandro's Supermarket, which is located at 4142 Government Street, will be hosting us. This free event is Friday, May 10, from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. https://midcitymerchantsbr.org/hot-art-cool-nights Today we broke ground on the (soon to be) 5th Grade Art & Science Gourd Garden!
