Evie Syas, a WHAM student, participated in National Lemonade Day for the first time this year (on Saturday, May 5th). During the planning phases, Evie decided she wanted 100% of the proceeds to go to the OLOL Children’s Hospital. Her stand was Evie’s LemonAID Stand and the lemonade was free with a donation of any amount.
She worked hard and planned for the day: she tested recipes; she drew a blueprint of how the stand should look; and she stayed up late Friday night getting it ready. She even thought of our furry friends and had water and treats for dogs! On Saturday she worked to setup the stand; she greeted customers, she waved her sign around to attract potential customers; she worked the cash register; and she served the lemonade and sweet treats for customers. Afterwards, she counted the donations from the day and we’re proud to say she raised over $700! The funds were delivered to OLOL Children’s Hospital and she signed a BIG check to commemorate the donation.
