Check Out our LYRC Readers!
The Louisiana Young Readers’ Choice Award is a reading enrichment program of the Louisiana Center for the Book in the State Library of Louisiana. The purpose of the program is to foster a love of reading in the children of Louisiana by motivating them to participate in the recognition of outstanding books. WHAM students reading 3 or more books were able to vote on their favorite book. The Secretary of State's Office staffed two voting machines for our election. After they voted, students received the famous “Blue Dog” "I VOTED" sticker! WHAM students chose these books as their top three favorites: Ellie’s Story by Bruce Cameron The Terrible Two (Book 1) by Mac Barnett Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear by Lindsay Mattick
