Ms. Katrice Hall, our WHAM Computer/Technology Specialist, has recently received the distinction of Nearpod Certified Educator. She is now joining thousands of exceptional educators around the world in transforming instruction with Nearpod. Way to go Ms. Hall! The WHAM 5th grade choir will have their debut performance during the Kiwanis Pancake Festival on Saturday, October 27th. They are set to perform during the first division which will begin at 9:00 am. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7.00 and includes breakfast. For the past few months, several of our 5th grade students participated in a cardboard arcade challenge sponsored by EBR Foundation and the Knock Knock Museum. We are pleased to announce that two of the arcades, Air Hockey Extreme and ROLO, will be presented at Knock Knock on October 27th from 10:00 am -1:00 pm. Admission cost to the museum applies. Wildlife Warrior Week is NEXT WEEK. It is a fun week for all so make sure to sign up.
Dr. Legoria has a fun week planned for the students as they learn about Louisiana wildlife rehabilitation. All proceeds from the week will be donated to Wildbabies Sanctuary, a local wildlife rehabilitation center. Mark your calendar to join us Thursday night for Wildlife Warrior Night from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. The event is $5 per child (parents are free), jambalaya will be sold and students will participate in fun, interactive STEM activities. Lifetouch Picture Orders DUE on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND If you wish to order your child`s school picture, please return the order form with payment by Friday, November 2nd. There will be a late fee charged for orders received after the deadline. Pictures may also be ordered ONLINE. School Picture Retakes on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND Retakes will be on Friday, November 2nd beginning at 8:30 AM. Students may arrive at school in Free Dress for the picture but MUST change into a uniform or Friday/Wildlife shirt before returning to class. Students MUST bring the proof package with them to retake the picture. ELECTION DAY - School Closed The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board decided it is in the best interest of the students to close on ELECTION DAY, Tuesday, November 6th. All schools will be closed. In an effort to keep you fully informed about daily bus departures, we have added a bus departure Google form to our school website. This form will be updated daily with approximate departure times. Information regarding trail buses and substitute bus drivers can be found here as well.
