The WHAM STEM Team had a ton of fun and did exceptionally well during the Baton Rouge Magnet High School (BRMHS) STEM Day event. They competed with students from around the district in the following events: straw tower, see it do it (1st and 2nd place), balloon car( 2nd place), team exam(1st place). The WHAM STEM Team placed first overall! We are proud of our boys and girls, Dr. Legoria, and Ms. Hall!
Have you ever wondered what would've happened if three well-known little pigs had consulted a construction engineer? Well, Ms. Silver's 2nd grade class completed The Three Little Pigs Stem Challenge. They used the Engineering Design Process to construct a house that could withstand the "Big Bad Wolf." These little engineers worked collaboratively to ask, imagine, plan, create, and improve.
First Grade has been learning about light energy and the importance of light in our everyday lives. They explored different materials to see how well light traveled though them. Flashlights were used to determine if materials were translucent, transparent, and opaque. The students enjoyed creating predictions and seeing the results!
